Registration for Virtual Session: Pollinators, Pesticides, and Our Food System

Are you interested in learning about Pollinators, Pesticides, and our Food System?

Join Nutrition Education students Elena Karakasi, Gwen Mercer, Rory Leeds, and Chad Miller for a conversational presentation about the importance of pollinators in our environment as part of the University’s Bee Campus USA initiatives. The session will start at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 and will be recorded.

Topics that will be discussed:

1) Pollinators/flowers interactions – Finding native plants in your region activity-

2) Inactivity of bees due to pesticides and how that affects their ability to pollinate – Finding native pollinators in your region-activity

3) How pesticide use affects our food systems. 

4) How behaviors in our everyday lives affect pollinators and what are some simple things that we can do to enhance pollinator diversity.
